Grok 3
Elon Musk's xAI released Grok 3 on February 18, 2025, and it has since outperformed its predecessor Grok 2 by more than 10 times, according to xAI engineers. Grok 3 is now available for free for a limited time, and it has quickly risen to the top of the Chatbot Arena leaderboard, surpassing ChatGPT in just its first week.
Grok 3 Overview: Grok 3 is an advanced AI model designed to solve complex problems, retrieve information in real-time, and provide contextually relevant responses. It is accessible through the X app and website, and a dedicated iOS app is also available.
Features : Grok 3 includes DeepSearch capabilities, which allow it to deliver detailed, well-reasoned answers by searching deeply. It also has a Think mode that activates its reasoning process, breaking down problems step by step before generating a final answer.
Performance: Grok 3 has shown significant improvements in reasoning, mathematics, coding, general knowledge, and tasks requiring instruction-following. It has achieved high scores in academic benchmarks and real-world user preferences, including the 2025 American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and graduate-level expert reasoning (GPQA).
Availability: Grok 3 is currently available for free for a limited time, and users can access it via X, grok.com, and the iOS app. Premium Plus and SuperGrok users will have increased access to Grok 3, including early access to advanced features like Voice Mode.
Development: Grok 3 was trained on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer, which utilizes over 100,000 Nvidia Hopper GPUs, providing it with 10 times the computational power of its predecessor.
Grok 3 is positioned as both a reasoning model and a generalist AI, offering users the flexibility to switch between standard AI functions and reasoning mode.
